Consider Some of These Unique Designer Pool Ideas

If you are going to spend the time and money on having a swimming pool installed in your backyard, why not go the custom route? This does cost a little more money, but it can be well worth it. With a custom pool, you are able to choose exactly how it will look, add some interesting features, and even increase the value of your home. Here are some fun and unique design ideas for a custom pool.

Have an Infinity Pool Installed

Depending on the type of property you have, you might be able to skip a traditional swimming pool and instead have an infinity pool installed. These are best when your backyard doesn't lead to another person's backyard, but instead is on the edge of a cliff or there is a nice view right at the edge of your property. This means the pool can be built to have what looks like a disappearing edge. The water looks like it is flowing over the edge of the property, though it is actually contained inside the concrete pool.

Design a Beach-like Pool

Just because you don't live on the coast, doesn't mean you can't have a beach experience. Some swimming pools are designed with you in mind. You can actually have the look of sand around your pool and leading into the steps on the shallow end. You can have the entire landscaping around the swimming pool designed to look like the beach, with palm trees as well. In addition to the sand leading into the pool, you can also have lights installed in the pool that turn the pool water a bright blue or green colour to look like the ocean.

Consider a Natural Swimming Pool

Natural swimming pools are similar to the beach-style pools but aren't necessarily for a beach or ocean pool. These pools don't use any harsh chemicals like chlorine and instead are more of an eco-friendly option. They are often installed to appear like a lake or pond in your backyard, often including items you would find out in nature, such as rocks and water plant life. It is a good way to have an authentic experience without leaving the comfort of your home.

Build a Grotto

You might have seen grotto swimming pools in magazines and located in celebrity homes, but that doesn't mean you can't have one. Many custom pool designers are able to build this type of structure, which has an artificial cave over a small pool or spa in your backyard. It can be a nice, quiet place to enjoy time with a loved one or friends.
